 The Macaw is an augmentative communication device which has numerous helpful and unique features. The device is small and light-weight, making it extremely portable. It is used like a tape recorder in that information is recorded directly into the Macaw by the user. There are 32 keys on the Macaw keyboard, but the Macaw can support operation from as few as 2 enlarged keys, to multi-levels of key-linked messages. The Macaw accepts direct select input, or input from switches with scanning. Also, the Macaw is fully programmable, and individualized overlays can be easily created.
